Dr. Imran Hamzawala Honorary Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Laparoscopic & Robotic Gynaecological & Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon Director & Chief of Robotic Surgery Department at Saifee Hospital

Dr. Imran Hamzawala is a Specialist in Colposcopy, (the science of screening and confirming cancers of the cervix, vagina and vulva). He is a Gynaecologist, a Gynaec-Cancer Specialist and a Robotic & Laparoscopic Surgeon. He is currently affiliated to the renowned Saifee Hospital in Mumbai, India and is the Director & Chief of Robotic Surgery Department at the hospital. With his extensive training and vast experience in U.K. in the field of Robotic Surgery, he successfully implemented a seamless robotic program here in India. Under his stewardship, he has overseen over 600 Robotic surgeries at Saifee Hospital.

Dr Hamzawala acquired his MBBS degree from Grant Medical College, Sir J.J Group of Hospitals, Mumbai University in India. He had then pursued his Post-Graduation in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, where he trained and was awarded a degree – MRCOG by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London, United Kingdom. Later, he did a fellowship in Gynaec-Oncology with Robotic Surgery from Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, United Kingdom. He also acquired his Robotic Surgery training and certification from the renowned IRCAD Strasbourg, France.

Recognizing his notable contribution, Dr Hamzawala has been bestowed with many awards such as “World Class Care Award” from the Royal Free Hospital, London, “Excellence Award” from the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford UK, “Excellent Customer Care Award” from Newham University Hospital, London and “Best Specialist Registrar” in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Barts and the London Hospitals NHS Trust, London, UK.
